Alex Marr Alex graduated with an MA in Mathematics from Oxford University. From 1989 he worked as a competitive shipbroker in both London and Hong Kong. He gained an extensive knowledge of the broking industry, becoming an experienced and well respected broker for both the traditional shipping and offshore vessel industries. Alex was a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. Alex joined Kennedy Marr as Managing Director in 2003 and was responsible for the company’s strategic development. Through his leadership, Kennedy Marr went from strength to strength and within the next few years the company expanded rapidly with new offices in Singapore, China and Norway. It is a testament to his foresight, hard work and quiet determination that the company is the global success it is today. Alex passed away unexpectedly on 4th April 2014 at the age of 47. He will be sadly missed by family, friends, colleagues and associates in the oil and gas industry. Alex will be fondly remembered as a true gentleman, genuine friend and respected leader.
